As 2016 draws to a close, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your prayers and for your support extended to us over the past year.
Five years and nine months have past since the disaster happened. The lives of the people in the disaster-stricken communities continue to evolve in big ways. The way we work across our locations is also changing, as we attempt to adjust to these developments.
The Kitasanriku area, which includes townships such as Iwaizumi, was badly affected by typhoon Lionrock that made landfall in Iwate prefecture this past August. Ps Dawn Birkner, one of our cooperating pastors and missionaries, continues the work she started immediately following this.
On the 5th of December (Monday), our Network held a one day retreat at Ippo Ippo Yamada. Not all of us were able to make it, but the cooperating pastors and missionaries and staff from cooperating organizations sent forth by our Lord to the various locations such as Kitasanriku, Miyako, Yamada-Ohtsuchi-Kamaishi, Ohfunato, Kesennuma, Ichinoseki, and the Core Members of the Network from the inland churches were able to come together.
Through our close fellowship in the Lord, we each gave an update and shared the challenges that we face, encouraged one another and took time to pray for one another.
We once again thank you for your past year’s prayers and support, and hope to receive your continued support in the coming year.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
