In spite of the rain, the “Saturday Relief Material Distribution Crew” goes out again to the earthquake affected sites. The material to be distributed today is rice, which has been contributed from Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, through TAIYO Pharmaceutical Industry Co., Ltd. (Nagoya). We are working towards holding our second onsen (hot spring) event. The onsen ryokan (inn with hot spring spa) has been recently occupied by construction-related people. Day-trip bathing is available; however, overnight stay will likely not be available until June. Please pray for the resumption of its normal service.

A PTSD care seminar will be offered, in collaboration with Somebody Cares International, for those wishing to learn what to be careful of, and how to interact with people in the community in carrying out disaster relief activities. On May 18 (Wednesday) at Cameria Hall, Sakari-cho, Ofunato, food service and entertainment stage were offered to comfort those affected by the earthquake. Matsubarako Bible Camp people, in their food service, cooked chicken & rice bowl. Have rich experience of serving meals to many guests, they made a meticulous and thorough preparation. The menu was well selected, taking into consideration requests of the evacuation center, cooking condition of the site, cooking environment at the site, food safety and easiness of serving. Everybody liked the food and commented it was “Delicious!” and “excellent!”
