In the midst of unusual late summer heat this week, many volunteers are here in Iwate Prefecture to serve and meet the needs of the people in Miyako, Yamada, Kamaishi and Ofunato. Missionary Paula Chen, who came to Ofunato last fall, started support activities and worked hard to build the Ofunato base, will complete her missions and leave Iwate in early September. We are very thankful for the services she has provided. Going forward, local staff will remain in Ofunato to continue their activities there. Your continued prayer and support are appreciated.
