This is the last week of November. As a Network staff retreat is planned for the weekend, the activities are concentrated in the first half of the week. Please pray for the safety and health of the base staff and volunteers, especially those who make long distance trips as the weather forecast often predicts snowfall these days. The staff of each base, the core members and their family members, totaling 30 people, will come together from November 30 to December 1 for the staff retreat. As some staff rarely have opportunity to meet with other staff, please pray that this will be a time of quality fellowship and interaction for […]
We are new constantly receiving news of snowfall from every area of Iwate. The snow has not accumulated yet. However, roads get icy in the mountain areas and in the morning and at night. Please pray for the work and transportation, especially for those volunteers who travel on such icy roads. There are already some Christmas related support events going on. On the 23rd (Friday), which is a national holiday, there will be a concert in Miyako, and lectures and events in Ofunato. Regular activities are also being carried out at each site. Please pray for those activities. (The photo was taken by Kazuyoshi Takahashi sensei of Kamaishi.)
Now in November, we are experiencing more winter days. We are very thankful for the volunteers who came to serve this week and for their sending churches and families. Mrs. Takahashi of the Kamaishi Base, who had been hospitalized, is now at home and resting to regain strength. Please continue to pray for her full recovery.
The Ichinoseki Base, which has been renamed “Hope Center,” is looking for a music keyboard: a keyboard that makes sounds on its own with built-in speakers; preferably portable, but it can be a standing type, if not too heavy; one with less than 88 keys is acceptable (unless the number of keys is too small); and it can be a used one as long as it makes sounds. If you can donate, please contact us using the E-Mail Form.
