3.11 Iwate Church Network was established in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck on March 11, 2011.

For the churches and communities in the affected areas
This network is mainly for the ministry of churches and for community support in the affected areas. Since the disaster, we have been conducted support activities in the affected areas, mainly at our six coastal and two inland bases.
Most of our bases are now closed, and we are able to continue our activities in the community with the churches in Iwate as our main base.
Network of churches and organizations
This network is centered on churches in Iwate and connects churches and support groups in Japan and overseas.
The network was started by four churches. Today, churches from all over the coast and churches established inland have joined together to encourage each other and serve Iwate.
